Not all its cut out to be

We've all heard the stories of actors and stars who at the high point in their career we're the talk of the town. Many of the child and teen actors along with Musicians that I grew up watching now are no where to be found.  Sadly some are no longer around. Breakfast Club stars, Goonies stars, Macaulay Culkin, Shannon Doherty, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie, Whitney Houston, Saved by the Bell cast, Degrassi High crew, Peewee Herman the list can go on.  While some of the people's lives were surrounded by extremes its always sad to see what was the cream of the crop fade away.  Hitting close to home The Toronto star published an interesting article about Canadian star Neil Hope (Wheels) former Degrassi High star.  Seems like fame isn't always as glamorous as its cut out to be.

Peppered Salmon and BBQ Salmon with Maple and Bacon Asparagus

Cooked up some amazing Salmon tonight with some brown rice and two different types of Asparagus.

The first Salmon was baked with a barbeque chip crust.  All you do is rub a very small amount of oil (I used vegetable) on the skinless side (this will help the chip breading from burning) and then coat the salmon with your crushed chips.   You can use any flavor of chips you like.  The second Salmon is marinaded in a Pepper sauce for two hours and then fried.  I also cooked up some Asparagus.  Half of it was glazed with Maple Syrup.  The second half was wrapped in candied bacon.  Cooked at 350 for about 20 minutes.

Here is the Salmon after being cook.  The BBQ Crusted Salmon is cooked at 350 for about 10 - 15 minutes and then I broiled it for about 2 minutes to give the BBQ crust a bit more of a crunch.

The Peppered Salmon is fried in Canola or Sunflower Oil for about five minutes a side.  You can use a number of different things for this.  I have a bunch of different ingredients in the seasoning.  After marinating the Salmon for two hours it is then topped with about a quarter cup of ground pepper on the skinless side and then fried.  Serve with asparagus and your choice of rice.  Cheers Chez Blodge

Updates

I hope you all enjoyed the Family Day long weekend.  I hope you all took some time to spend with your loved ones, very important.  My weekend was rather restful and unproductive compared to what I had originally planned but nevertheless here we are.   I was able to visit with a few friends, go out for dinner with my loved ones and enjoy a nice home cooked meal last night.   I'm going to be lite on the blogging over the next couple of weeks as you may have noticed I haven't been posting regularily since last week.  I have a few personal obligations to attend to which will make it difficult to post regularily.    Have a great week.  Bloggin B

'S....What is that? .... ODAAT ..... ANFAWFOS...

Ever try to work your way through all that crazy internet and text messaging slang?  Every now and then I receive a message whether its on Twitter  or Facebook or ol school (ie email or text) and I'm like "Huh?"  What does AIKRN mean?" And either out of embarassment or fear of public reprival you carry on as if you know exactly what the sender means.  As the English language rots away to whateverville here is a resource that may help you keep up with lastest hymns in the church of cyberville:

Satay Chicken Burger with Stuffed Jalapeno

Started off with a bunch of Jalapeno peppers

Sliced those bad boys in half

Seed them clean

Fill them up with creme cheese

Wrap them in bacon

Cook at 350 for 20 minutes or until bacon is to your liking

For the Chicken Satay Burgers I used ground chicken and 2 tablespoon of flours along with 2 tablespoons of Coconut Milk and a few spices. Cooked them on the grill for about 5 minutes a side.

For the burger I used a Sesame Seed Bun, layered the patty on the bottom added home made Chipotle Mayonnaise, Lettuce, Monterey Jack Cheese, a handful of Deep Fried French fries (onion rings or sweet potato fries will go good too) and topped off with a few of the Stuffed Jalapenos.  Throw the top bun on and chow down. This was really good and filling.
