Nerd Block June 14

This month's Nerd Block package has arrived!!!

This is the second month I have ordered Nerd Block and I am quite content with the goods in this month's box.  I decided that I'm not going to do unboxing videos as they are now a dime a dozen and will stick to posting a couple pictures on the blog.  For those unfamiliar with Nerd Block or LootCrate (which will be arriving shortly), it is kind of like a care package you order which has a theme every month and is filled with miscellaneous collectible items often not available for retail.   

This month the theme was a Celebration of Summer Blockbusters.  As you can see there are two
t-shirts this month. Every month you are guaranteed a t-shirt in the Nerd Block package.   Also in the box were a Dr Who Figure, Mario Kart Yoshi Racer Figure, the typical Mine Craft sticker and Nerd Block's custom designed Pin Art Game.  Not bad.  T-shirts are pictured below.

This month's box featured a Marvel "The Iron Sentinel" T-shirt  

along with the classic Ghostbusters: "Who you gonna call?" Themed Shirt.  The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man alone makes this month's box worth the splurge.  Stay tuned for more unboxings.

Today's Photo: Green-Eyed Bandit

Green-Eyed Bandit: One of the trickiest creatures I find to photograph is Dragon Flies. I'm sure there are others (hummingbirds come to mind) but the dragonfly's restlessness and constant fluttering of their wings often require a bit of patience along with a good shutter speed. Today's Photo: The Lines

The Lines: I don't often think of Canada being indigenous to swamps but every now and then I stumble upon one in the most unexpected places. I found this little stretch of the Hayesland Swamp which is located just north of the town of Dundas. It is the lower part of a much bigger swamp just outside of Carlisle. One of the things I love about swamp photography is the reflections.

The Knot: We're mid into June and with all the summer festivities from Waterfront Festivals to Food Trucks to Movies under the Moon, we are also well into wedding season. This was one of the first weddings I filmed. I decided to snap a few shots of the early morning preparations before the ceremony as an extra. Its always nice to see the details that often are overlooked on such busy yet joyous days

Today's Photo: A Quiet Moment

A Quiet Moment:  I took this photo prior to a photo-shoot I did over the weekend for a beautiful couple who are expecting their first child in less than a month.  It was early morning when we did the shoot and the coffee was still hot off the pot.  I thought the title appropriate considering their life is about to get a little louder in a beautiful way.

My E3 Nintendo Picks

I have to hand it to Nintendo the had a very strong presentation at E3 something that we haven't seen for a while.  There are definitely some very cool titles in the works.  One of the most exciting upcoming games in my humble opinion is Mario Maker and Zelda: Hyrule Warrior.  But don't take my word for it have a look at the trailers embedded below along with a few other of my favorites from Nintendo's E3 Presentations.

MY E3 Sony Picks

Personally I think some of the best news that came out of Sony's E3 lineup was the announcement of the PlayStation TV.  Having the option to remote play on different TV's is a cool feature.  Here's the announcement trailer.

Shockwave is probably one of the best Transformer villains of all time. This figure from the Dark of the Moon toy line is both intriguing and menacing at the same time.


 

My E3 Microsoft Picks

Although I haven't made it around to purchase an X-box One as of yet, it is on my wish list.  There are a number of games that I want to play including Titan Fall and Forza.

Microsoft's Conference today went a lot smoother than last year and there are a lot of exciting looking games on the horizon that were showcased.  Here are my favorites from today's E3 Microsoft Conference. Which we're your favorites?

Take a seat: I've always had a strange fixation with hanging out on balconies. This one has a little Spanish influence to it. I'd have a cold one up there.
