Horror Block September

Terrifying stuff in this month's Block

So we start off this month's horror block with this creepy looking guy below.

I'm not one for the creepy Halloween stuff but I can see some good uses for this mask. Its Eddie from Iron Maiden.  Along with Eddie comes a bonus T-Shirt which I may be auctioning off.

Also in the box was Cousin IT, no not the Adams family IT, you know that creepy clown in the bathtub.  IT is featured on a "Everything Floats" T-shirt.  The Shirt is nice looking.  I'll throw it in a backing and sell it 20 years from now when cousin IT is 50.

Rue Morgue threw in a copy of their Horror Movie Heroes, while not necessarily coffee table material, makes for a interesting bloody read.

Last but not least is the Costume Tatoos, which I loved as a kid.  I'm not sure if these are stick ons or not but they will make for some fun photoshoots in the future.

Not a bad box this month.  I love the Mask. The IT T-shirt was a nice collectors addition.  And the Tattoo stickers will definately come in handy.

Nerd Block September 2014

Nerd Block for September has arrived and as promised Nerd Block has given me an STD.  A little explanation may be in order.  So back in August Nerd Block began sending out emails and tweets to subscribers running along the lines of "We're giving you an STD"  And low and behold in the box was an STD:

There are four different types of STD's you could have received, mine was Gonorrhea.  The Idea is a little weird but I guess it got people talking a bit so awareness about the risks of STD's is a good thing.  I passed my plush toy around the Office a bit and it got a laugh but there was a little discussing too so I guess mission accomplished Nerd Block.... Moving on!!!

I have Mega Bloks!  I love Lego stuff but due to my stretched finances between Tresta Studio , Bloggin B and other projects on the go and the ridicolous price of Lego, I have had to try and limit my hobby spending.  Its a tough feat lol.   Lego type toys are something I have wanted to invest in but circumstance hasn't allowed so I always enjoy receiving them in the boxes I subscribe to even if they are only mini's.  In this month's box were Marvel themed Lego Bloks.  They are currently in production on Series Three and each bag contains one of eight possible figures.  Sandman was lurking in my bag with a loot of cash.  The figure assembled (pictured below) is on the smaller scale but nicely detailed for a Mega Blok.  I may have to add Stealth Spider-man and Havok to the shelf.

Nerd Block is currently celebrating its One year anniversary so congratulations first off is in order.  And to celebrate they have thoughtfully given their subscribers a stress ball, because people get stressed.  I'm going to leave this in the box as a collectible as I prefer my home gym as a stress reliever.

Next up is Dc Collectible Scribblenauts Unmasked figure and in the box and just in time for the upcoming TV series: The Flash.  I love this figure and I may just go full out nerd on the Premiere and watch it with him.  Very nice addition to the Block.

To tie in with the August movie releases along with a T-Shirt we also have a Papercraft Ninja Turtle Themed Boxo. This time around I have assembled my Funko and they are going to make for some fine backdrops for some upcoming photo-shoots I have planned.

Last but not least is the T-Shirt of the month which is a Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mixtape Shirt.  Nerd Block keeps coming out with some great T-Shirts.

Overall this month's box was great.  A lot of good stuff this time around.  Next up is Horror Block... stay tuned!

Nerd Block August 2014

August's Nerd Block has arrived and it has a few interesting items:

I believe this months theme has a time travel theme of some sort but not really a 100 per cent sure.  There was a pop figure and a t-shirt this month and if you are a Doctor Who fan the Doctor Who magazine.

I do vaguely remember watching Dr. Who with my grandfather as a kid but haven't yet taken the time to catch up on all that has happened in the Dr.'s world.

Pokeman fans will know the reference to the t-shirt.  I am not a pokeman ; ) so I am deciding whether I will give this shirt away to one of the readers in a give away.

Two things which made this box entertaining for me were the Batman Pop figure which is pretty cool.  I am now officially collecting Pops due to my box subscriptions, something I hadn't planned on doing with all my other collections but why not.

Garbage Pail kids, which could have been a little bigger, but they are Garbage Pail Kids so I'm not complaining.  Can you tell I loved GPKs as a kid?  I did.  I had a huge collection which have unfortunately laid waste to time.

And then there is this angry looking hamster which is fine by me because I like hamsters.

Overall a decent box this month.  Batman definitely saves the day.

Nerd Block July 14

July's Nerd Block has arrived and this box was literally packed full.

This month's package has a Comic Con theme to tie into the upcoming conference beginning next week.  There are a variety of bigger items in the package and none of the smaller throw in items like stickers that we're acustom to.  Overall a solid box this month.

First up is the Star Wars Insider Magazine new issue #151, which is kind of cool as I've actually been planning to explore the Star Wars Universe and this will make a great start.  There are so many Star Wars books I've been lost on where to start my journey through the Jedi program.

Next up and just in time for the upcoming Michael Bay movie is the Ninja Turtles "Turtle Power" T-Shirt.  I may be caught walking around with my ghettoblaster wearing this shirt pumping Partners in Kryme's "Turtle Power" rap tune from the 90's.

Also included is a copy of the Comic Con: A Fan's Hope DVD documentary. Included with this pack is two mini figures: Stan Lee and Harry Knowles.

And last up is the Star Wars Millenium Falcon plush toy, which sadly I had to confirm the name of the ship with my Star Wars friend.... I know I have brought shame to the Galaxy.  But alas I have a Nerf Zombie Strike Gun to finally defend myself against the Walking Dead who should be nearing Washington this fall and eventually will cross into Canada shortly after. I am prepared.

Psss here's something for all you throwback Thursday needs

Nerd Block June 14

This month's Nerd Block package has arrived!!!

This is the second month I have ordered Nerd Block and I am quite content with the goods in this month's box.  I decided that I'm not going to do unboxing videos as they are now a dime a dozen and will stick to posting a couple pictures on the blog.  For those unfamiliar with Nerd Block or LootCrate (which will be arriving shortly), it is kind of like a care package you order which has a theme every month and is filled with miscellaneous collectible items often not available for retail.

This month the theme was a Celebration of Summer Blockbusters.  As you can see there are two
t-shirts this month. Every month you are guaranteed a t-shirt in the Nerd Block package.   Also in the box were a Dr Who Figure, Mario Kart Yoshi Racer Figure, the typical Mine Craft sticker and Nerd Block's custom designed Pin Art Game.  Not bad.  T-shirts are pictured below.

This month's box featured a Marvel "The Iron Sentinel" T-shirt

along with the classic Ghostbusters: "Who you gonna call?" Themed Shirt.  The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man alone makes this month's box worth the splurge.  Stay tuned for more unboxings.
