The British create life like Transformers

I am always fascinated not so much by the progress of technology but rather the mind set behind those who do spend million of dollars on research.  Some of it in my opinion is useless research like the big bang fiasco from a few years back when over a billion dollars was spent trying to simulate the big bang.   In the midst of our current economic situations throughout the world I find it hard to fathom where  we are able to come up with 8 million (US) dollars to experiment with and create robots that can transform?

Well that's what the British are up to now.

British Scientists Take First Steps Towards Real Life Transformers!   Of course as a huge fan of Transformers when first hearing this I am like "awesome" but then reality kicks in and I feel confused and sometimes angry.  Angry because I want people to be able to eat and have medical care... Confused because I still can't get my head around why in God's name would anyone want a piece of metal walking around.  I may just have to start my own resistance group in the near future.  I haven't ranted in a while so forgive me.   I have a sore spot for robots yet alone robots who can learn on their own and now these "researchers" want to create robots who can learn as well as assimilate into different robots of varying configurations????  Call me an alarmist but did any of these guys see Terminator? Dark of the Moon?  Maybe not.  Maybe someone should send them a copy along with a few newspapers showing the current rate of people starving to death too.  I'm going to stop now before I have a hernia and open this up for debate in the combox.  Bloggin B

Behind the scenes

Remember the falling building scene in Transformers Dark of the Moon? Well Industrial Light and Magic Visual FX's have uploaded a video featuring a behind the scenes look at how it was done.  Presumably this will be included in  the upcoming 3D Blue Ray DVD being released next week.

Finally the Autobot Ark comes to the Vault

Well it was about 6 months ago that I first mentioned the Transformers Autobot Ark.  I have been waiting for this toy since last summer.  For those unfamiliar the Ark is an Autobot ship.  Well I finally picked this up for a decent price point too.  The toy transforms from ship into the Autobot Battle Station including a prison for Decepticons.  There's a few sound effects when transforming the ship to its battle station along with with your typical lazer gun sounds.  The cool thing about this Battle Station is it has a whole mini-toyline (Cyberverse) which you can use with it.

Also the package comes with the Autobot Roller the Lunar Rover transformer seen in Dark of the Moon when the Autobots go to see their ship on the moon. Thus my Cyberverse collection has begun.  More to come and need to find a place to store these Mini Sets.

Cyberverse Hatchet

The latest edition to the Vault is Decepticon Hatchet.  Hatchet is from Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon.  He is one of the three black SUV's from the highway chase scene.   This is the first in the Cyberverse Series that I have purchased and he is actually one of my favorite Dark of the Moon Figures next to Ultimate Optimus.

Shockwave Cyberverse destined for the Vault

Shockwave has to be one of my favorite Decepticons.  He is ultimately lethal.  Hasbro's description states: "Few have ever seen SHOCKWAVE and lived. His is the hand that ensures DECEPTICON plans remain secret from the AUTOBOTS. He eliminates evidence and witnesses with brutal, emotionless efficiency. The only hints he ever leaves of his presence are smoking craters and the collapsed tunnels through which he travels" In the third part of Michael Bay's Trilogy Dark of the Moon I was really excited when I heard Shockwave would make an appearance.  I love the design they used for him and for Driller his Fusion Tank. I have been waiting for a toy version of this since the movie came out.  After picking up the Voyager Class Version (pictured above)  I really wanted a Driller alongside. Hasbro has finally released the Cyberverse set of Shockwave with his Fusion Tank. This is definitely on my hit list.

New DOTM Toys: Sergeant Noble Tailpipe & Pinpointer and Sideswipe

I came across these bad boys over at Zellars last week and I couldn't resist.
I believe the Sideswipe (to the left) has two different versions this being the more colorful of the two.  Tailpipe and Pinpointer are pretty awesome figures too.  Have a look at a few images I snapped real quick.  "BlogginBlodge Roll Out!!!!!!"

Ultimate Optimus Prime

So yesterday morning I decided to take a hike up to Toys R Us.
Being the Transformers Collector that I am I had one item
in mind the Autobot Ark

But to my surprise I ended up with this :

Actually I was just about to walk out of the store with two other items in hand.
As I walked out of the Transformers Aisle Ultimate Optimus Prime was there
staring me down. I wasn't honestly expecting to see this figure till mid September
seeing as we still haven't seen some of the figures here in Mississauga that
were slated for release back in May and June. So I decided I'm grabbing this
while available and in all honesty this has to be one of the best Transformers
figures I have ever owned the only slightly disappointing feature was the lack
of Vocal Expressions included in what is a relatively pricey toy.

Here's a few more quick shots I took. This sucker is staying in Robot Mode
For a while anyhow.

This Gives play time a whole new meaning

It always fascinates me the level of creativity people have to constantly come up
with stuff like this. Hate it or love it ... I've always wondered what sparks the thought
for someone to spend the time doing this. Maybe that's why I wanted to study
psychology at University.
