World War Z Super Bowl TV Spot

If you haven't seen the feature trailer it is below. This movie looks quite promising.

Make a change to your home

If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook you will be aware that I am currently renovating the living quarters.  If you're not following me shame on you, go do it!!  I promise it will be engaging.  So I was actually sanding the drywall patches in my bathroom when I thought up this post.   I will be painting a little tonight, after finishing this entry actually.  I was thinking, as renovations are costly, what I would build in my home if I could do anything.  Would it be the 600 gallon wall aquarium for the salt water tank I desire?  Would I make an awesome set of bunk beds?  A slide instead of stairs?  (Going up may prove problematic.)  An indoor tree house perhaps?  Indoor foot swing mmmm that could be injurious. (I may have to think that one over) Or the library with a sliding ladder.   I have ideas!!!!

There are all kinds of cool Facebook pages, blogs and websites which feature articles on unique custom home renovations as well as some rather cool and peculiar items you could buy.   But if you could pick a room in your house to renovate which room would it be?  And since in Fantasy Land everything is free what special features would you add to your room?  Are you the creative type who would do something outlandish and unique or would you have someone build your dream room?  Share you thoughts and ideas in the combox below.

Character Wednesday's: Injustice Gods Among Us

Today marks the launch of DC Comics' new series; Injustice: Gods Among Us.  The Justice League type spinoff is heavily tied to the same titled upcoming video game from NetherRealm Studios.  The game is being released this April.

The comic is actually being hailed as a prequel to the game. I had a look at Issue #1 last night and have to say this series looks very promising.  Receiving close to 5 star reviews from over a thousand ratings on the DC digital site, there is definitely a strong interest in this pre-game series.  Without getting into any spoilers the story begins with Superman and a person of interest during a late night conversation.  The Man of Steel is also later seen with the caped crusader who has a surprise in store for the Dark Knight.

What has a lot of fans interest peaked is that a big part of this story line is the ability of beloved enemies like Lex Luther being able to stand up in battle with the likes of Wonder Woman.  It is also no secret that our beloved super heroes will be going toe to toe, beginning with Batman and Superman in the first Issues. Fans alike myself are hoping that the comic series will explain the reasoning behind the superhero madness without having to resort to playing the game in order to understand why friends like Batman and Superman will turn on one another.  I've been looking forward to the release of Injustice for quite some time, so it is great to finally see.  Injustice is available at your local comic store today.

Stay tuned for an in-depth look at this issue and more comics next Wednesday on Bloggin B's new category: Character Wednesday's.  What are your thoughts on this new release from DC and NetherRealm.  Are you looking forward to seeing your favorite superheroes battle it out in the upcoming game?  Is your interest in the comic story line leading up to the game piqued?  Hit up the open mic and share your thoughts in the combox below.

What's your bug story?

What’s your worst fear when it comes to close encounters of the creepy crawly kind?
I would have to say that I fear awaking to a hissing scorpion on my chest, fangs out and stinger pointing at my face.  A terrible feat that would be!  It would definitely be one of the two times you will hear me scream like a girl, the other being when I ride rollercoaster’s.  I love screaming on rollercoaster’s not sure why I shared that but hey….
(Note to the squeamish the above is the only picture of insects I’m attaching to this post.)

So I had an interesting conversation today with a colleague, you know one of those conversations where you’re not sure how it started but ended up sparking an interesting discussion (when I say interesting I mean more like goose bump raising).   My colleague was sharing a story of the killer centipede in a shower.  While in Asia she shared her life and death encounter with a highly poisonous centipede who found his way onto her roommate’s leg while taking a shower.   The bug never did bite as I’m told they only attack when they feel threatened so there were no injuries sustained during this story, but many people are not so lucky.  There are fatalities all over the world each year due to creepy crawlies.  I’m not much of an expert when it comes to bugs but I do know that some bites are fatal or fatal without hospitalization or treatment.  It got us all to talking about our worst fears when it came to the creatures of the dirt kingdom.  We all concluded that this was another reason to be happy living here in Canada.  When you think about it what’s the deadliest bugs we have in Canada?  I did a few lookups on the internet and came up with two contenders The Black Widow Spider and some debate on whether the Brown Recluse Spider has made the odd appearance in Western Canada.

But thank God we don’t have wild scorpions, giant centipedes, and bees that sting you to death here in Canada.  The wildest adventure I have had when it comes to bugs is disturbing a Fire Ant nest in Florida as a kid and learning quickly why they are called fire ants (its all about the spread).  So what are your encounters with the creatures from below?  Have you had a stare down with a venomous scorpion or a dual with a deadly spider?  Share in the comment box.

Re-launch and Over the Weekend

After what seems like a short disconnect (a few months) from the internet, which translates into eons in the land of social media, I am re-launching Bloggin Blodgett.  This year has begun with many changes including home renos, an upcoming move, my new website launch (t.b.a.), major health / lifestyle changes to name a few…  It is going to be a busy year but a fun year full of surprises and new original content.  Posting will be done on a daily basis and some of your favorite categories will be weekly features along with a few new additions which will be implemented throughout the year.

Bloggin B's getting back into the swing of things after a busy fall going back to school and getting some personal matters in order. I  spent much of this past weekend preparing and organizing things around the house and on the computer.  I am currently renovating my place as I prepare to expand territories and move westward this spring.  Renovations began just before Christmas and I am beginning to see a faint light at the end of the black hole of chaos.  I have tried my hand at craftsmanship and picked up some experience in molding, caulking, painting, trips to the dump and tiling.  I won’t be quitting my day job just yet but practice does perfect the craft.

Saturday morning I trekked over to Home Depot for a little tutorial on installing kitchen cabinets which will be my next big project and the final stage of renovations. Anyone with anger issues and who would like to destroy things let me know I have destruction to be done.  After that I snuck over to Gotham Central Comics to join with my fellow comic patrons in celebrating Gotham’s 1 year anniversary.  Congratulations to the man Carlos (Carlos is pictured left).  Yes Bloggin B has a comic drawing .... ( hey humor me on Monday).  I picked up a few more comics than I normally do but hey sales are sales plus entries in the draws.  Who doesn't like winning stuff? After indulging myself in some stunning visual material from therein most of the day was spent laying down Thinset mortar which I don’t think I would use again as the texture in three different tubs that I used were very inconsistent and at 62 bucks a bucket it is not cheap.  I went to bed with a stiff back and probably a list of complaints from the noise I made using my buddy’s wet saw to cut the tiles.

After sleeping in a little on Sunday I headed out to Credit Mills to do a little shopping for new blinds, some supplies and to pick up some Portuguese chicken.   There’s been a lot of take out food on the menu lately so stopping by Brasas Churrasqueria Rostisserie & Grill to grab lunch for the next few days seemed the right thing to do. They are arguably one of the best Portuguese Chicken joints in Mississauga.  Check them out sometime if you haven’t.  They are located on the corner of Glen Erin and Burnamthorpe.  And while there, being the white Filipino that I am, I stopped in next door at Halo Halo to grab some Philippine cuisine.  Picked up some lumpia (like spring rolls) and pancit (noodles) and some pastries.   So food is covered for the next few days as demolishing parts of my kitchen is on the menu this week.  Have a great Monday everyone!
