Today's FotoFriday Feature is a collection of pictures of some homecooking taken over the past two years. I am particularly hungry now after preparing this post. Chez Blodge use to be a regular column feature of Bloggin Blodgett and after sifting through a pile of food pictures I have concluded that it must be resurrected. For now the following mouth watering images should wet your appetite. Happy Friday!!!

(Major Spoilers) Injustice: Up close and personal
Up close and personal is exactly what Injustice is. The story line has and continues to hit a lot of cords with fans and the characters a like. I personally love this comic series and would really like to see it continue past the release of the upcoming game, which is slated for April 16th in North America. For those unfamiliar, Injustice: GODS AMONG US is a upcoming game from NetherRealm (the creators of Mortal Kombat). The comic is set up as a prequel to explain how the DC characters Villains, Superhero's, and Human's are able to fight one another. The storyline trailer can be viewed below:
(Plot-line Spoilers from here on in)
What we have seen so far:
The first part of this will be detailed as it is key to developing the premise of the plot line.
The story begins with Superman and Lois Lane. They are both resting in bed when Lois receives an anonymous call tipping her that there a payoff talking place at the docks. Superman also senses that there is something bad going on in Metropolis. After a discussion about safety they part ways. Enter Batman who is on his way to Starlabs after something sensitive was taken. After Batman takes down a few thugs he and Superman hangout. During this time Joker arrives at the docks where Jimmy and Lois are hiding waiting to capture the payoff on camera. Joker draped in a hat and trench coat kills Jimmy and then reveals himself to Lois before kidnapping her.
The following morning Superman discovers Jimmy's body along with the Joker's calling card. Meanwhile Batman is now at Starlabs investigating a break-in where some equipment and Kryptonite has been stolen. Superman suddenly appears declaring he can't "see Lois". Batman calls in the Justice League to find her.
Wonderwoman arrives first at the docks and catches a worker who reveals the Joker and Harley Quinn are in a submarine. Superman brings the submarine onto land and discovers Harley and Joker operating on Lois. Enter Doomsday (a villain who kills Superman in a previous comic line)who Superman drags off in order to protect Lois. Unknowingly Superman has now inhaled Joker's new toxin.
At this point Joker and Harley try to make a get away but are stopped by Green Lantern. Joker begins to taunt Batman with his usual rhetoric. The Joker then reveals that he has implanted a trigger to a bomb beside Lois' heart. When her heart stops it will trigger a nuclear blast in Metropolis. We also learn at this point that Scarecrow has created a fear toxin that releases Kryptonite directly into Superman's lung bloodstream through his lungs. Its at this point Batman remotely contacts Superman who is dragging Doomsday into space. Batman informs him that he has ingested the fear toxin and may be subject to seeing things that aren't there. It is at this point that Superman realizes he is hearing two heart beats and what he thought was Doomsday is really Lois who is pregnant with his child. Lois' heart stops. The comic cuts over to a close up of Joker who mocks the situation stating "Boom" We see Metropolis from a distance now incinerated by the bomb. The Joker has finally done it. Metropolis is no more!
The story continues with Batman interrogating Joker on why he has turned his attention to Superman. His (Joker's) reason being he is tired of losing and has become bored of losing. He wants to do something new and so he has turned to corrupting Superman. During this time the Justice League is trying to find survivors and round them up. Wonderwoman finds Superman and tries to comfort him. Superman leaves the body of Lois in her care and heads out to find Joker. He encounters Green Lantern while flying who tries to talk to him. Superman isn't in the mood to talk forcing Green Lantern to trap him in a bubble. Trying to reason with him Superman breaks free of Green Lantern and takes his ring. After taking Green Lantern to the ground Superman destroys the ring. Meanwhile Batman is still talking with Joker when Superman flies through the prison brick wall, grabs the Joker and puts his arm through his chest. Batman is horrified!
The story cuts over to Harley who having learnt of the Joker's murder escapes the prison she is in. Enter Green Arrow.. there is a small scuffle and then he leaves with Harley trapped in his net. Harley thinks she is being brought to Superman, who Green Arrow is trying to protect her from as he doesn't believe "in executions" It is here we are starting to see some preludes to the team ups that will be appearing in the game. Following the reports of what has transpired in Metropolis and the Death of the Joker, Superman after hearing a news report of a war overseas declares "No more" and goes to capture the dictator in charge. Wonderwoman appears questioning him and whether he will address the world. Superman then addresses the United Nations stating the Justice League has failed the world. He then reveals his identity as Clark Kent and declares open war on anyone who takes innocent lives calling for an 'immediate world-wide ceasefire'

After this Superman interferes with a US Military attack. The US
miltary responds by hiring a special force unit to take Superman's parents as
leverage in order to try and control him. His parents are placed in the glass
mirrors similar to the ones we saw in the original superman movie series.
Superman flies to his parents home which has been set ablaze and he has a
conversation with the Sargent in the glass. Superman is instructed to cease his
activities or he will never see his parents again. Next we find ourselves at
the Justice League tower where Nightwing, Flash, Cyborg, Hawkman, GreenLantern
and a few others are present. Wonderwoman addresses the group stating her trust
in Superman and that they should stand by him. Batman is neither present nor
Green Arrow. At this point a group of the Justice League teleport to Central City
to find Mirror Master who is responsible for entrapping Superman's parents in
the mirror. After a few altercations they find his parents and meet with
Superman. Superman, now in Bolivia,
using Mirror Master's belt enters the mirror his parents are trapped in and
rescues them. The comic cuts over to the military who are now discussing their
failed mission. The president of the US
enters his office to find Batman waiting for him. Batman promising he will not
reveal that the president was behind the mission cautions that if the Justice
League finds out that they will likely take sides with Superman and not
humans.
So far things are getting pretty intense in this DC alternate universe. I am enjoying the story line all though there
are a few questions that come to mind on how certain characters will fit into
the game plot. My thoughts on the series to date to follow in
part II later tonight…

Today's Photo: Tilapia and Carribean Rice
I realized looking back at my blog posts from the first year of Bloggin Blodgett that I haven't done much cooking over the last year and I think I may have to get back to the kitchen once I finish my renovations and move. Definitely on the agenda for the summer but for now pictures will have to suffice.

FotoFriday: Snowmageden
Today's FotoFriday feature is Snowmageden (thanks to Lumbric Al for the title). The pictures were taken while driving around during the 'sinister' blizzard last Friday (Feb 8th 2013) that hit Mississauga. Some of the pictures appear grainy due to the snowfall and night shots taken without a flash or tripod. I'm hoping for one more good snowfall this year to go out and get some more shots. The rest of the set can be view at FlickR.

Character Wednesday Delayed to Saturday
I apologize for the delay in posting the Character Wednesday reviews. The schedule has been a little overwhelming with putting the finishing touches on the home renovations, school assignments and being off sick two days this week. I haven't forgotten. Also I have decided that the indepth look at the comics I mentioned previously will require their own seperate treatments to do them justice. Stay tuned.

Character Wednesday's: Death of the Family
The long awaited conclusion to the Joker's saga of madness has arrived. Batman #17 Death of the Family: The Punchline is here. (There are no spoilers in this post)
If you have been following the story line which intertwines with a number of the other DC New 52 titles (Batgirl, Batman & Robin, Nightwing..) you maybe in for a surprise. If you haven't kept up with the latest Batman chronicles then you are missing out on some fun. The Death of the Family is a really good Joker storyline with a few interesting twists. The premise of the story is that Joker is arranging a "romantic" dinner for the Batman and extended family, of course with his own sick and demented twist. Bloggin B will be taking an indepth look at the 'The Punchline' conclusion later tonight. Get your copy today!!! Stay tuned to this Bat Channel.
Today's Photo: Ashes to Dust
Snapped this photo last year outside a Church after their Ash Wednesday Mass. The ashes are made up of burnt palms from the previous year's Palm Sunday celebration and then placed on the forehead of the recipient. The ashes are a reminder to Catholics of the fact that one day they will return to the earth and become dust.

A taste of Brazil Bakery
The Apple Strudels (pictured left) are really really good. Definately would go back to pick up some more of those. Also the veal sandwich with cheese, mushroom and onion sauce for 4.95 is a reasonably priced sandwich. The onions were a little chunky in the sauce but a good veal sandwich all around. I also picked up some fresh coffee which is on the lighter side. Not a big coffee drinker but I like mine more like an expresso. Preference is preference.
So if you are in the neighbourhood of Erin Mills drop by and check them out sometime. They have a nice selection of pasteries. They have big macaroons also, who doesn't like macaroons? Friendly and upbeat staff also helps make a little sit in joint all the more enjoyable.

So the game is over and done, now all we have to do is talk about the Halftime Show, Beyonce's strip tease entourage, The Illuminati turning off the power, return of Destiny's Child and of course the commercials its all about the commercials. I didn't watch the entire game not going to lie, because first off I'm just not all that into football and second once the Iron Man 3 trailer hit I had no reason to continue watching. Let's be honest this year its all about Tony Stark. But I have to admit was actually quite amusing when the power went off and the twitter feeds went hysteric with two rivaling theories on the cause.... Beyonce's electrifying performance ultimately drained all the power and secondly well who else can we blame but the Illuminati. So there you have it folks entertainment at its finest...
So what we're your favorite commercials for Superbowl 2013? I have mine listed below (embedded)

FotoFriday: Copatville
Today's FotoFriday feature is CopatVille. One of my close family friends has a tradition of building a Christmas Village. Over the years she has collected the different buildings and citizens of "Copatville". This mini city is quite the site to see... Here are a few snapshots from the set which you can view the rest over at FlickR.
