Nightcrawler Teaser

The Imitation Game Trailer

There is nothing like a little drama on a Monday morning to liven up a day... Better yet Benny's back in this latest World War drama romance.  But more importantly Keira stars opposite Benedict who I'm a fan of.  I am also a sucker for World War drama so I will be seeing this.  The trailer is below.

Kite Trailer

SyFy's 12 Monkeys Teaser

SyFy has released its promo trailer for their new upcoming series: 12 Monkeys.  It is loosely based off the classic 90's movie.  I enjoyed the original film so we will see how the series fares.  I am hopeful that this will do well but to be honest the trailer seems to lack any excitement, it feels like its missing something.  James Coles is being played Aaron Stanford, best known for his role as Pyro in Xmen and his role in the TV Series Nikita.  Aaron doesn’t have the tough guy look that Willis did in the original film so it will be interesting to see how he pulls off the role of James Cole.  Amanda Schull who most recently played Katrina on Suits will be taking up the lead role of psychiatrist Dr. Railly.

While the post-apocalyptic theme of half the world being killed off by a deadly virus has been exploited many times, including in the recent blockbuster Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I am always game for another person’s take on such events.  Although one major problem with the series is if you have seen the original film you know what 12 Monkeys are.  How the new show can and will handle this may be what sinks or swims the series.  I suspect that much of the series which be more of an explanation of how certain events transpired or maybe they will be breaking from the original story line with some new events and twists.   12 Monkeys is scheduled to air January 2015.
